How to Spend a Weekend at Lake Dillon

A relaxed two-to-three-day itinerary.

Two or three days at Lake Dillon go a long way. Here’s a relaxed weekend itinerary that mixes the lake, the mountains and the best of Summit County — all from a central home base in Dillon.

Friday: arrive & settle in

Check in, drop your bags, and walk down to the Dillon Marina for a drink and lake views at the Tiki Bar. In summer, time it with the Friday Farmers Market and a lakeside concert at the Dillon Amphitheater. In winter, warm up by the fire and plan your mountain for the morning.

Saturday: mountains or lake

In winter, hop the free ski shuttle to Keystone or drive about 20 minutes to Breckenridge, Copper or Arapahoe Basin — the full rundown is in our Ski & Winter guide. In summer, rent a paddleboard or pontoon, hike to Sapphire Point, or ride the paved rec path toward Frisco. Cap the night with dinner in Dillon or Silverthorne (our picks are in the Food & Drink guide).

Sunday: one more view

Grab coffee at Dillon Coffee Lab, take an easy morning walk along the lake, and beat the I-70 traffic home by leaving late morning.
